Lucia Scoops Bronze at International Awards in Amsterdam!

Over the years Tony Wood Hairdressing has always put itself out there to enter competitions, giving our team the opportunity to take the stage and shine. There are many events that we get involved with, but there are not many that are as big as the Goldwell Global Creative Awards. A competition that involves hairdressers from across the world competing to win the prestigious New Talent Award.
This year it was held in Amsterdam but before you even get to compete, you need to win gold in your own country. Lucia won GOLD in the UK back in July after submitting her image for the New Talent category! The image alone was stunning however she needed to prove to the world that she could produce more than an incredible image!

Representing the UK in Amsterdam, Lucia had to reproduce her image on a model, live in front of an audience of thousands. Lucia was up against all the other gold winners from across the world. She had 3 hours to recreate the look and she reproduced it perfectly. Lucia’s final look was judged by a group of hair professionals from across the world and they had to decide how well she has recreated the image.
We wouldn’t find out the result until the gala evening, where thousands of hairdressers across the world would be watching this event. We all knew Lucia did an amazing job recreating her image, but you can never guess how judges would score you.
The time came when they announced the winners and this was when Lucia became the youngest ever contestant to win an award at the Global Creative Awards. She scooped Bronze, 3rd in the world! Lucia is a real talent and has only just started her career, we can not wait to see whats next for her and as always, support her all the way!
